Family & Kids Events
at the Peretz Centre

A two-year, bi-weekly program, whose breadth and richness is not matched anywhere else in Vancouver, for students aged 10-13 to reinterpret the traditional bar mitzvah right of passage and gain a comprehensive understanding of Jewish cultures and histories.

For 10 wild summer days, youth ages 8-13 explore Jewish cultural heritage and practice creative expression historically associated with Jewish culture with local artists and practitioners. This intergenerational program culminates in a youth-led cultural shabbes dinner.

Open up a world of Jewish cultural stories for children! All kids age 6 and under are invited to join us for an hour of stories, songs, and a craft. Our newest children's program is led by librarian Aurel Matte and will resume in 2027 on Sunday mornings, once a month.

Peretz members are organizing a new youth group program for Pnei Mitzvah graduates to continue their learning and help them stay active, connected members of the community. This pilot program started in fall 2026 for Pnei Mitzvah grads, but stay tuned for future updates!
