Event Description

To celebrate Hanukkah this year, join us at the Grand Staircase of the Central Library for a concert by the Vancouver Jewish Folk Choir.

The choir was founded in 1979 by conductor/arranger/composer Searle Friedman with the aim of keeping Jewish music alive and educating both Jewish and non-Jewish audiences to a world cultural treasure. They sing in English, Yiddish, Ladino and Hebrew—all songs are in transliteration.

The concert takes place on the Grand Staircase on Level 8 at the Vancouver Public Library (Central Library) at 350 West Georgia Street, Vancouver.

After the choir performance, you are welcome to stay for the author reading and talk.

Participants:

Conductor: David Millard

Accompanist: Lacri Galagan

Soloists: Aurel Matte, Tristan Pearson, Sarah Little, Byron Hanson, Clara Troje
