Event Description

The last Fraytik tsu Nakht of 2025, just days before the start of Khanike (Hanukkah), will be a Peretz party open to all!

Festival of Lights? Celebration of rebellion? Jewish Christmas? Miracle of the oil? Feast of fried foods? The holiday contains many fascinating (and sometimes troubling) meanings. At the Peretz Centre, our holiday event emphasizes the things that bring us together as a diverse community -- not militarism or nationalism, but peace, justice, and mutual liberation. With joyful celebration, we affirm our capacity to create a better and more beautiful world for all.

Our potluck table will be an culturally-vibrant feast, with latkes (sign up to make them together!), Chinese food, and sfenj (Moroccan doughnuts).
