Event Description
Calling klezmer musicians! KlezWest and Kol Halev Performance Society sponsor a monthly klezmer jam and dance program for klezmer beginners, intermediate, and advanced klezmer players and dancers. All klezmer instruments and musicians are welcome to join!
The next jam session will take place at the Peretz Centre for Secular Jewish Culture (6184 Ash Street) on Sunday, March 23rd from 2-5pm:
Bring your own instrument and music stand
Some charts supplied, some we learn by ear
Dance instruction is provided (come and learn)
Fees are by donation (recommended: $5)
KlezWest is an informal group of musicians, dancers, Yiddish speakers and friends who love to explore, play and dance to klezmer music. We meet monthly to learn songs together, practice different kinds of Yiddish dance, and connect. Regular jam sessions take place on the second Sunday of every month (check the KlezWest website for schedule details and to join their mailing list).
